Johnathan Pesce - Senior Software Engineer

John Pesce

Johnathan Pesce received his Bachelors of Science in Engineering Physics in April 1996 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). He worked as a Senior Researcher and Systems Engineer in the ERAU Space Physics Research Lab from 1996 to 2002 studying Arctic and Antarctic Auroral optical emissions and space weather. In 1999 he earned his private pilot certificate. In 2002, John joined the Center for Applied ATM Research (NEAR) located at the ERAU Daytona Beach campus as a Senior Researcher. He completed his Masters of Science in Software Engineering at ERAU in April 2003.



Projects

  • Engineering enhancements of a distributed Real-Time Simulation (RTS).
  • Integration of live ADS-B and TIS-B aircraft into the RTS simulation environment.
  • Integration of flight simulators into the RTS simulation environment.
  • Chief software tester for Boeing in support of the FAA Network Enabled Operations (NEO) program.
  • NEAR Lead Developer and Point of Contact for the AviationSimNet Standards Working Group.
  • Integration of AviationSimNet assets with the NEAR RTS and the Daytona Beach NextGen Test Bed.

Other duties include the NEAR lab network and systems administration and maintaining a live ASDI database.
