The Florida NextGen Test Bed is a government funded effort to aid in prototyping certain technologies that will increase airport safety, security, capacity, and efficiency.

The stated goals of the Florida NextGen Test Bed are:

• To enhance safety, security, capicity and efficiency at airports and surrounding airspace
• To integrate existing/emerging technologies in a seamless operational environment
• To include airport, FAA, airline and aircraft operational components
• To provide an environment to evaluate/validate concepts/research related to the NextGen
